The role

At Tend, we’re building a dental experience that’s human. Behind every great member experience is a team ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and transparency in our financial processes. Our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team plays a critical role in delivering on that promise.

We’re looking for an RCM Team Lead to oversee daily operations for a specific RCM function. In this role, you’ll manage work distribution, provide real-time coaching, serve as the first point of escalation, and ensure your team has the clarity, tools, and support they need to succeed. You’ll partner closely with the Senior RCM Lead to monitor performance, resolve bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement—helping the team meet goals while upholding the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.

Location: Nashville, Hybrid, 2 days per month on-site (the first Tuesday and Wednesday of each month)

What You’ll Do

Lead daily workflow management for your assigned RCM function, ensuring tasks are prioritized, distributed, and completed on time.

Monitor work queues, troubleshoot bottlenecks in real time, and proactively reallocate resources to maintain throughput.

Serve as the first point of escalation for questions, complex issues, or process exceptions—guiding teammates toward solutions.

Partner with the Senior RCM Lead to align staffing coverage with volume needs, address capacity concerns, and analyze quality trends.

Support onboarding and training for new hires in collaboration with the Senior RCM Analysts, ensuring consistent skill development across the team.

Provide constructive, timely feedback to teammates to reinforce accuracy, compliance, and operational best practices.

Identify performance trends, recommend process improvements, and assist with documentation updates or audit-related work.

Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented team culture aligned with Tend’s mission and RCM department goals.

Who You Are:

You embody our Tend values and demonstrate key leadership competencies that drive both operational success and team growth. At Tend, our values aren’t just words on a wall—they guide how we hire, lead, and collaborate. As a leader, you set the tone for your team, modeling the behaviors that shape our culture, performance, and member experience.

Tend to Others - Lead with empathy and accountability. You consistently achieve results, even in challenging circumstances, by prioritizing the needs of members, teammates, and partners.

Be Brave Enough to Lead - You speak up about difficult issues, make tough calls, and take smart risks to act with integrity and authenticity. You inspire your team to do the same.

Savor the Ride - You celebrate wins, create a motivating team environment, and keep energy high—even when tackling complex or high-volume work.

Embrace Our Differences - You encourage diverse perspectives, listen actively, and adapt your leadership style to different communication and learning needs. You recognize the value that different backgrounds and experiences bring to the team.

Rooted in Growth - You seek out feedback, reflect on your leadership approach, and continuously improve. You actively develop your own skills while fostering growth in your team.

Additional Leadership Competencies:

Build Stronger Teams - You create an environment where collaboration thrives, roles are clear, and people are empowered to do their best work. You celebrate collective wins and address challenges quickly to keep the team moving forward.

Decide with Clarity - You make informed, timely decisions—balancing urgency with accuracy—especially when resolving escalations or reallocating resources. You use data, experience, and team input to guide your choices.

Deliver on What Matters - You set clear expectations, hold yourself and your team accountable, and ensure work is completed to the highest standard. You track progress against goals, address barriers proactively, and maintain momentum.

What You Have:

2+ years of experience in revenue cycle management or finance in a dental organization, with deep expertise in at least one core function (e.g., insurance verification, credits, payment posting).

Prior experience in a lead, senior analyst, or mentorship role preferred, with proven ability to guide and develop others.

Proficient in Dentrix, with advanced ledger knowledge and ability to resolve complex account scenarios.

Comfortable using Excel and Google Sheets to track performance, analyze data, and present insights to leadership.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage shifting priorities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and constructive feedback in real time.

What We Offer:

We believe taking care of people starts with taking care of our own. Here’s how we’ve got you covered at Tend:

🩺 Health Comes First - We offer medical, dental, and vision insurance — plus a Dental Wellness Program to keep your smile as sharp as your skills.

💰 Plan for the Future - 401(k) plan because your future matters just as much as your now.

💡 Support, When You Need It - Life & AD&D insurance, health advocacy, legal support, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) — all designed to have your back when life gets real.

🛍️ Smart Spending Options - We’ve got Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), and pre-tax transit/parking benefits to make your dollars go further.

🌴 Time to Recharge - Enjoy generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and company holidays — because rest is productive.

💸 Bonus Eligible - This role includes annual bonus potential based on both company performance and your impact.
