The role

Are you passionate about finding technology solutions for drug development, so our scientists can focus on the science?

Do you have experience with IT product discovery and continuous development?

If so, now is your chance to join Ascendis Pharma as our new IT Product Owner for the Scientific Solutions team.

Ascendis Pharma is a global biopharmaceutical company committed to making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. Guided by our core values of Patients, Science, and Passion, we are applying our innovative TransCon® technology platform to fulfill our mission of developing new therapies that demonstrate best-in-class potential to address unmet medical needs.

At our headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark, research facilities in Heidelberg, Germany, and additional offices across Europe and the United States, we are advancing programs in our Endocrinology Rare Disease and Oncology portfolios. We also collaborate with partners on the development of TransCon-based products in other therapeutic areas and markets.

Our context

This position is based in our Global IT organization. Over the past five years, we have built and matured a product-driven organization with a strong focus on product management and lifecycle thinking. Our long-lived teams take ownership from problem discovery through solution delivery and continuous improvement, ensuring that we address real business needs.

Our structure combines clear leadership intent with empowered teams. Each team member is supported by a People Leader focused on development and a Functional Leader guiding strategy and delivery. We foster autonomy and self-organization to enable fast flow, clear accountability, and minimal dependencies.

The Scientific Solutions team supports Product Innovation, Product Development, CMC, Nonclinical Development, and Global Medical business functions. Across these areas, the common objective is to identify and develop technology solutions that enable pharmaceutical product innovation.

We are seeking a passionate IT Product Owner to join our growing Scientific Solutions team. As a key member of Global IT, you will play a crucial role in shaping coherent technology offerings across applications, tools, and data for a broad scientific user group.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional, global teams to achieve extraordinary results.

You will report to Jakob Monajemzadeh Thrane, People Leader in Global IT, and, from a functional perspective to Ivanna Rosendal, Global Head of Digitalization. The position is based at our headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Ensure that a broad scientific user group has coherent technology offerings across applications, tools, and data that evolve with their needs.

Communicate closely and frequently with users and leadership teams to create a clear, shared understanding of the most important needs and priorities.

Translate business needs into technology deliverables and coordinate with relevant IT teams to ensure prioritization and completion.

Prioritize and manage the Scientific Solutions team’s backlog and actively help remove impediments to technology delivery.

Collaborate closely with other teams across Global IT to manage dependencies and align priorities.

Qualifications and skills:

You hold a relevant academic degree, at minimum a master’s degree, and have 5+ years of experience in a related role within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or comparable scientific environment.

Furthermore, you have:

A background that enables you to understand the translational stage of drug development.

Hands-on experience managing and developing a technology product portfolio.

Experience with product discovery and decision facilitation.

Experience driving the successful delivery of digital products and platforms.

Experience working in an agile team and continuously improving ways of working.

Key competencies:

You are a strong team player, innovative and curious, and have a can-do attitude.

You possess an entrepreneurial mindset and can thrive in an informal, open environment where innovation and change are key.

To succeed in this role, we also expect you to be a proactive self-starter who can identify opportunities for improvement and take initiative to move things forward.

Our team needs to scale to support the ever-growing demands, so we need team members who both can act pragmatically, and solution orientated for the short term, and at the same time are able to think long-term to ensure what we do today can grow to support us in the future.

Travel : 10-25 days per year

Office : Tuborg Boulevard 12, 2900 Hellerup
