Product Sourcing Engineer (Electronics Focused)
Maritime & Maneuver Dominance: Heavy Metal - Engineering & Operations
ABOUT THE JOB
The Product Sourcing Engineer (Electronics Focused) drives the supply network development and cost management of Anduril's electronic hardware across their lifecycles. This role focuses specifically on electronic components, PCBAs, sensors, communication systems, and related electronics critical to our Maritime & Maneuver Dominance platforms. You'll collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and manufacturing, to ensure our autonomous systems have reliable, high-performance electronic solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Conduct supplier selection for electronic components, PCBAs, semiconductors, sensors, and subsystems, leveraging our approved supplier list and identifying new strategic partners in the electronics sector
Partner with strategic electronics suppliers to accelerate product development via activities such as:
Concept scoping to quickly solidify electrical and electronic requirements
Feature trade-off/trade tables for component selection, performance specifications, and cost optimization
Should cost/clean sheet models for PCBAs, cable assemblies, and electronic modules
Joint design development of custom electronics and subsystems via clear statements of work
Simulation of electronic designs and signal integrity analysis
Drive the development and consolidation of a manufacturing BOM for electronics, working with Quality & Manufacturing to ramp production internally and with our suppliers with high flexibility
Manage electronics-related CAPEX throughout NPI, including test equipment, programming fixtures, and production tooling
Conduct value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility for critical electronic components
Complete BOM risk assessment for electronics, including alternate component sourcing, second-sourcing strategies, and supply chain resilience planning for semiconductors and long-lead items
Ensure completion of all component qualifications ahead of production, including:
Component validation and testing (environmental, EMI/EMC, reliability)
Compliance with military specifications and standards (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, etc.)
Supplier quality audits and capability assessments for electronics manufacturers
Lead electronics cost engineering activities to converge bottoms-up cost curves to product cost targets, maximizing total cost of ownership (TCO) across the product lifecycle
Manage ad-hoc cost issues including semiconductor shortages, component obsolescence, tariffs/import-export costs, and cost inflation
Reduce complexity through commonality optimization, component/supplier rationalization, and standardization of electronic platforms across product lines
Navigate electronic component lifecycle management, including obsolescence mitigation and technology roadmapping
Stay current on emerging electronics technologies, semiconductor trends, and regulatory requirements affecting the electronics supply chain
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other technical field
3+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
Sourcing engineering for electronics, PCBAs, or electronic components
Electronic circuit design and development
Supplier engagement and development in the electronics sector

Knowledge of electronic testing standards, qualification requirements, and reliability principles
Experience with value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at the component & product level
Ability to travel 10% - 40% of the time to supplier sites, manufacturing facilities, and other Anduril locations
Ability to relocate, if not already local to be onsite in Costa Mesa, CA
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree or advanced technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience in electronics sourcing, supplier development, or electronic system design
Deeper experience within:
Design & development of PCBAs, electronic assemblies, or embedded systems
Advanced sourcing activities for electronics or semiconductors, including stints as commodity/sourcing managers
Electronics supplier development (DFM optimization, process capability, supply chain management)
Early supplier engagement for next-generation electronics and emerging technologies
Component engineering and lifecycle management
Experience with military or aerospace electronics applications and related qualification requirements (AS9100, etc.)
Familiarity with developing high-reliability electronics in a high-mix, low-volume environment
Knowledge of electronics supply chain dynamics, including semiconductor foundries, distribution channels, and allocation management
Understanding of advanced electronics technologies (RF/microwave, high-speed digital, power electronics, optoelectronics)
Experience navigating component obsolescence and technology transitions
Proficiency with electronic design tools and ability to read schematics and PCB layouts
Experience with contract manufacturers (CMs) and EMS providers
Exposure to working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
