Summary
The Corporate Pilot will support the safe and efficient operation of the company’s Gulfstream G150 aircraft, providing the highest level of safety and service for all passengers. This role involves assisting the Chief Pilot with both flight operations and hands-on operational tasks, including confirming flight plans, preparing passenger itineraries, restocking cabin supplies, detailing the aircraft, and assisting with maintenance oversight. The Pilot will fly approximately 250 hours per year, with an average of 2-3 overnight stays per month.
Duties and Responsibilities
Flight Operations
Assist in piloting the company’s G150 aircraft, transporting executives and other personnel as needed.
Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections to ensure the aircraft is airworthy and in optimal condition before each flight.
Assist with flight planning, including route calculations, fuel management, and determining alternate airport options, as directed by Chief Pilot.
Reviews and cross-checks filed flight plans, ATC routings, weather updates, and NOTAMs prior to departure, as directed by Chief Pilot.
Operate the aircraft in strict adherence to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Continuously monitor weather conditions and operational conditions and immediately notify the Chief Pilot of any condition that may affect the safety or feasibility of a flight. When serving as PIC, exercise PIC authority as required by applicable FAA regulations.
Maintain communication with air traffic control (ATC) and ground services throughout all phases of flight.
Safety and Compliance
Prioritize safety in all flight operations and ensure compliance with all relevant FAA regulations and company protocols.
Conduct emergency procedures and safety briefings for passengers when required.
Stay current on regulatory changes, including FAA regulations, airspace procedures, and other relevant aviation safety protocols.
Ensure all flight documentation, including flight logs and maintenance records, are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Customer Service & Cabin Readiness
Deliver exceptional customer service to passengers, ensuring a comfortable, professional, and safe experience.
Assist in preparation, verification, and distribution of itineraries as directed by the Chief Pilot.
Restock cabin supplies, catering, beverages, coffee, snacks, ice, and toiletries prior to every flight departure.
Clean, detail, and reset the cabin, lavatory, and cockpit post-flight, ensuring the aircraft is clean and ready for subsequent missions.
Adapt to changing schedules, flight plans, and passenger needs with a high degree of flexibility.
Maintain a professional demeanor and the highest level of discretion at all times. Due to the nature of the role, the Corporate Pilot may become aware of confidential business discussions, strategic decisions, or sensitive company information during flights. It is expected that all such information will be treated with strict confidentiality, and no details will be disclosed to any unauthorized parties, both during and outside of work.
Administrative & Maintenance Support Duties
Assist in managing flight schedules and coordinating ground transportation and related logistics, as directed by the Chief Pilot.
The Corporate Pilot may monitor maintenance status, identify discrepancies, and communicate maintenance concerns to the Chief Pilot. The Chief Pilot retains responsibility for maintenance coordination, scheduling, authorization, and communication with maintenance providers unless otherwise delegated in writing.
Track flight hours and ensure compliance with FAA reporting requirements.
Maintain and update personal certifications, training records, and any documentation related to the aircraft's maintenance and compliance.
Qualifications
Must reside in Houston or Conroe, TX.
Multi-engine instrument rating and Airline Transport Pilot [ATP] certificate required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a First-Class FAA medical certificate.
Must maintain all required pilot licenses, ratings, and certifications, including compliance with FAA regulations.
Responsible for maintaining up-to-date medical clearances and adhering to all health requirements for flight operations.
Education and/or Experience
G150 type rating required.
Minimum of 3,000 hours total flight time.
1,500 hours multi-engine time.
500 hours of jet time.
100 hours of G150 flight experience preferred.
Reporting and Supervisory Structure
All duties assigned to the Corporate Pilot are performed under the direction and supervision of the Chief Pilot. The Corporate Pilot shall not independently alter flight schedules, passenger itineraries, aircraft maintenance plans, operational procedures, or other departmental decisions without authorization from the Chief Pilot, except where required by applicable law, FAA regulations, or the safe operation of the aircraft.
The Chief Pilot has supervisory authority over the Corporate Pilot as an employee. The Pilot in Command retains the authority and responsibility applicable to the PIC role during flight operations.
The Corporate Pilot is expected to promptly communicate to the Chief Pilot any safety concern, maintenance discrepancy, regulatory issue, passenger concern, scheduling conflict, or other matter that could affect safe or efficient flight operations.
The Corporate Pilot may make recommendations regarding flight operations, safety, maintenance, scheduling, and passenger service; however, such recommendations do not constitute independent authority unless specifically delegated by the Chief Pilot.
Physical Demands
Availability: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on company needs.
Ability to lift and carry: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds to handle luggage, equipment, or other items related to flight preparation and safety procedures.
Climbing and bending: Must be able to climb ladders, bend, or crouch to conduct pre-flight inspections, including accessing various parts of the aircraft during walk-arounds.
Manual dexterity: Must have the ability to operate aircraft controls and instruments with precision and efficiency during all phases of flight.
Extended periods of sitting: Must be able to sit for extended durations in the cockpit during flights, sometimes in confined spaces.
