A Diverse and Engaging Caseload
Our hospital primarily sees emergency and critical care patients, providing RVTs with the opportunity to work with a varied and interesting caseload.
Our veterinary team also has special interests in:
Exotic companion animals, including pocket pets and birds
Soft tissue surgery
Emergency and critical care medicine
We offer advanced diagnostic tools, including ultrasound and endoscopy, helping our team provide high-quality, comprehensive patient care.
Our brand-new facility was designed to support around-the-clock veterinary care and provide our team with the tools and space they need to deliver excellent medicine.
As an RVT, you’ll have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of cases and develop your skills in areas such as emergency nursing, anesthesia, diagnostics, patient monitoring, treatment, and critical care.

What You’ll Do
As an RVT at Walker Road Animal Hospital, you’ll play an important role in providing high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities may include:
Providing nursing care to emergency, critical care, and hospitalized patients
Monitoring patients and recognizing changes in their condition
Assisting with anesthesia and surgical procedures
Performing and assisting with diagnostic procedures, including imaging
Supporting emergency and critical care cases from triage through treatment and recovery
Administering medications and treatments
Placing and managing IV catheters and fluid therapy
Communicating with clients regarding patient care and treatment plans
Working closely with DVMs and the broader veterinary team
Supporting hospitalized patients and maintaining accurate medical records
Participating in ongoing learning, case discussions, and professional development
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for an RVT who is:
Registered and in good standing with the appropriate provincial regulatory body
Passionate about patient care and veterinary nursing
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Confident in their technical skills, or eager to continue developing them
Interested in emergency, critical care, anesthesia, surgery, and/or diagnostics
A strong communicator and team player
Compassionate, dependable, and adaptable
Committed to providing excellent care to patients and their families
Emergency experience is an asset, but we are also happy to hear from RVTs who are interested in developing their emergency and critical care skills.
