The Office of Human Resources | Roseman University of Health Sciences
Make Every Paycheck Count. Make a Difference at Roseman.
At Roseman University of Health Sciences, our employees are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for a detail-oriented, solutions-driven Payroll Specialist who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys solving problems, and is passionate about providing exceptional service.
If you enjoy working with numbers, navigating payroll systems, investigating discrepancies, and helping people understand their pay, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact behind the scenes of a university transforming healthcare education.
🌟 About the Role
As our Payroll Specialist, you will play an essential role in ensuring Roseman employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with applicable regulations. Reporting to the Director, HR Systems & Payroll, you will coordinate biweekly payroll processing, review timekeeping and payroll data, reconcile transactions, research discrepancies, and help maintain the integrity of our payroll operations.
You will also serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers, helping answer payroll questions, resolve issues, and navigate payroll-related processes with confidence. From routine processing to complex problem-solving, you will take ownership of assigned matters and work collaboratively with Human Resources, Finance, managers, employees, and external payroll partners to get things done right.
Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and commitment to service will help ensure every payroll cycle runs smoothly.
🎯 What You'll Do
Coordinate and process biweekly payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payment of employee wages.
Review and validate timecards, earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, and other payroll transactions; process authorized adjustments and corrections.
Monitor payroll deadlines, timekeeping submissions, approvals, and exceptions, performing reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll tax, wage-and-hour, and reporting requirements, including multistate payroll and legally required deductions.
Support year-end payroll activities, W-2 processing, and internal and external audits by maintaining accurate records and supporting documentation.
Serve as a primary resource for employee and manager payroll inquiries, researching discrepancies and ensuring timely resolution.
Utilize Workday HCM and payroll reporting tools to validate data, investigate errors, maintain data integrity, and support system enhancements.
Maintain payroll procedures and documentation, identify opportunities for process improvement, and collaborate with HR, Finance, managers, and external payroll partners to strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and service.
What You’ll Bring (Qualifications):
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant payroll experience.
Minimum of two years of experience directly processing payroll or performing substantial payroll administration responsibilities.
Demonstrated experience reviewing, validating, and reconciling payroll data, identifying discrepancies, and researching and resolving payroll-related issues.
Ability to independently manage recurring payroll deadlines, prioritize competing responsibilities, and resolve routine processing issues within established procedures.
Working knowledge of federal and state payroll, taxation, and wage-and-hour requirements.
Proficiency using HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, reporting, and data-management systems. Experience with Workday strongly preferred.
Experience handling confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting multi-state payroll, including payroll tax administration, garnishments, and year-end payroll activities.
Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), or equivalent relevant payroll certification preferred.
🌟 What Makes You a Great Fit?
You are someone who combines technical know-how with a strong sense of responsibility. You understand that payroll is more than processing numbers—it is about earning trust, protecting confidential information, and making sure employees can count on being paid correctly.
You bring:
