Job Description Summary
The Career Engagement Coordinator supports the delivery, coordination, and promotion of Career Engagement programs and services for Seattle University students and recent alumni.
Serving as a generalist and cross-functional member of the Career Engagement team, this position provides front-line career support to students while coordinating programs, communications, resources, and team initiatives. The Coordinator helps ensure that Career Engagement programs are well organized, effectively promoted, accessible to students, and consistently delivered across the university.
The position works collaboratively with Career Education, Employer Engagement, and Career Engagement leadership to support the implementation of strategic initiatives while providing responsive day-to-day support for students and campus partners.
Position Description:
Career Coaching & Student Support — 35%
Provide individual, drop-in, and group career support for students across academic disciplines in ways that are engaging, culturally conscious, and effective.
Assist students with resumes, cover letters, interviewing, networking, internship and job searches, career exploration, and use of Career Engagement resources.
Help students identify appropriate Career Engagement programs, employer opportunities, experiential learning resources, and campus services.
Support student intake and referrals to specialized Career Engagement staff when appropriate.
Maintain accurate student engagement data and appointment records.
Help ensure a welcoming, accessible, and student-centered experience across Career Engagement services.
Program & Team Coordination — 35%
Provide coordination and implementation support for Career Engagement programs, workshops, events, and strategic initiatives.
Assist with scheduling, logistics, registration, materials, communications, and follow-up for programs and events.
Support initiatives such as career fairs, employer programs, networking events, mentorship, Career Champions, workshops, and other student engagement activities.
Maintain program calendars, project timelines, participation information, and other shared team resources.
Coordinate across Career Education and Employer Engagement to help ensure programs and communications are aligned.
Participate in and contribute to Career Engagement team meetings, professional development, and division-wide initiatives.
Provide administrative and project support for new Career Engagement initiatives as they are developed.
Provide additional program and operational support during high-volume periods.
Other duties as assigned.
Communications, Marketing & Student Outreach — 15%
Coordinate student-facing communications promoting Career Engagement programs, services, events, resources, and opportunities.
Draft and distribute newsletters, email campaigns, event promotions, digital announcements, and other student communications.
Support Career Engagement social media and digital outreach in collaboration with university communications partners.
Maintain a communications and promotional calendar for Career Engagement.
Develop and update promotional materials, presentations, templates, and other communication resources.
Work with Career Engagement staff to identify programs and opportunities requiring targeted student outreach.
Help ensure consistent messaging and branding across Career Engagement communications.
Identify opportunities to increase student awareness and engagement with Career Engagement services.
Career Technology, Digital Resources & Data — 15%
Help students navigate Career Engagement technology and digital career resources like Handshake, ConnectSU, Redhawk Hub, and more.
Support collection and maintenance of program participation, student engagement, and communications data.
Support maintenance and updating of student-facing resources, web content, and career information.
Assist with implementation and promotion of new career technologies and AI-enabled career resources.
Identify recurring student questions and resource gaps and share insights with the team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
One to two years of experience in student services, higher education, career services, recruiting, communications/marketing, event or program coordination, customer service, or a related area.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear and engaging student-facing communications.
Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects, programs, events, or deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to provide responsive, high-quality service and work effectively with a variety of individuals and stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while independently managing assigned responsibilities.
Comfort learning and using digital platforms, communication tools, databases, and other technology.
Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with students and communities from diverse backgrounds.
Commitment to Seattle University’s Jesuit mission and values.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with college students or recent graduates.
Experience in career services, academic advising, student affairs, recruiting, human resources, or another student-facing environment.
Experience coordinating events, workshops, educational programs, or student engagement activities.
Experience developing email campaigns, newsletters, social media content, digital communications, or other marketing materials.
Familiarity with career development topics such as resumes, interviewing, networking, career exploration, and internship/job searching.
Experience using career management, CRM, email marketing, website/content management, or event-management platforms.
Experience supporting employer, alumni, faculty, or community partner engagement.
Experience collecting, maintaining, or reporting program participation and engagement data.
Interest in emerging career-development technologies, including AI-enabled career tools.

Positions designated as hybrid eligible may offer the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule after successful completion of an introductory period of 3–6 months. In these cases, the role typically begins fully on campus to support onboarding and training, with the potential to transition to a hybrid arrangement thereafter.
