Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Vehicle Contribution Margin Inventory Management Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Analyst – Cost Accounting.
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead & support Inventory Management and Material Cost Analysis activities, Direct Raw Material bill-of-material creation, costing, variance analysis and reporting, General Stores inventory audit, and Physical Inventory coordination for Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas (TMMTX)
Reporting to the Manager of Cost Accounting, this individual will be responsible for supporting Inventory Management and Material costing activities for several production shops and General Stores. The role will support the Inventory Management department in preparing accurate bills of materials, supporting physical inventory activities, and delivering meaningful analysis and accurate reporting.
What you’ll be doing
Support and lead inventory activities, including execution of physical inventories, monthly cycle counts and investigation of outlier parts.
Lead direct raw material analysis and reporting for Assembly, Plastics, and Bodyweld/Machining
Prepare and present MUV reports for assigned shops, supporting them with analysis and cost reduction efforts.
Investigate inventory variances by part to identify root causes and implement resolutions.
Lead, coordinate and execute General Stores audits.
Manage the creation and maintenance of bills of materials for assigned shops, including validations and analysis to ensure SOX compliance for DRM cost change summaries.
Support month-end Closing with material movements, journal entries, reports and validations needed for an accurate month-end inventory and costing results of Direct Raw Material of supported shops, General Stores, LOH, Vehicle WIP, and Inhouse inventory.
Prepare month-end reporting, including Plant Inventory Trends and Days of Supply, government inventory census, Inventory Accounts Reconciliations, PBM support.
Coordinate and support TMMTX physical inventory, including training and Auditors coordination, support for TMMTX shops and lineside verification, North-America/Overseas In-transit activities & tag creation process.
Support book-to-physical inventory reconciliation to ensure SOX compliance.
Support Physical Inventory at TABC and other locations.
Support ad-hoc requests and projects, including new operational launches of axle and new production plant, auditor requests and other.
Develop and maintain Standardized Work Instructions, JKK, Kaizen.
This position requires an individual with strong analytical, problem-solving abilities, effective follow-up skills and the ability to build strong working relationships. Many issues may require the team member to draw upon their experiences to solve problems in a systematic and analytical way. This analyst will be required to work through issues independently, with other sections in A&F as well as with the Shop Floor, General Stores, Logistics/Production Control, CoE, TMNA, and other NAMCs.
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent analytical degree and background
Manufacturing Cost Accounting experience, including cost and usage variance analysis.
Experience supporting monthly close processes.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on creating, managing, and manipulating large data sets in Excel
Ability to manage multiple priorities, recurring deadlines, and cross-functional deliverables
Experience developing, managing, and executing detailed activity schedules.
Ability to prepare and present findings and recommendations to various levels of management, including executives

Experience working for Accounting and Finance in an Automotive Manufacturing Company
Experience organizing and reconciling Physical Inventories
