I quit medicine because I kept watching patients die needlessly, for avoidable reasons. In almost every case, the science and the clinicians were fine. It was the system around them that failed: the way information moved, the way decisions got routed, and the way fragmented teams and fragmented data turned solvable problems into tragedy.
Our mission is human wellbeing, and we're focusing on the breakthrough technology of personalised medicine. Since the beginning, our proprietary insight has always been that the company to create a true active learning data engine with a loss function against human wellbeing would be the one to crack it, becoming one of the most impactful companies in the world as a result.
We're now in 1,300+ clinics, across 4 product lines, serve >30% of the UK population, and have solved >6 million patient cases in the past 12 months alone, saving an estimated 9,600 lives. We are cash flow positive, growing fast, and have a tight crew of ~45 people.
Multiple trillion-dollar companies will be built in healthcare over the next two decades, and we intend to be one of them.
We have a knights of the round table culture with a flat hierarchy, where we empower builders to have outsized impact on millions of lives, and where we collaboratively converge on the optimal action without dogma or ego. We're all here to serve a greater mission than ourselves. The closest analogy for our culture is probably Firefly (the TV series): a small crew on a ship at the frontier, each person exceptional in a specific way, deeply loyal to each other and the mission, resourceful under constraints, and having a genuinely good time doing something that matters. We're carefully curated, lean, and wholeheartedly in.

ASSURANCE LEAD
Healthcare organisations need confidence that the technology they use is clinically safe, protects patient data and can withstand serious scrutiny. At Anima, assurance is not a box-ticking function: it shapes how we build, earn customer trust and bring our technology to more clinicians and patients.
We’re looking for an intellectually sharp, pragmatic assurance leader to build and own this function.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Shape product decisions. Work closely with Product and Engineering to understand how Anima operates, identify risks early and translate clinical, regulatory and data-protection requirements into practical decisions.
Build the assurance function. Own the systems, documentation and processes behind customer and product assurance—including DPIAs, clinical-safety documentation and customer assurance materials. Turn fragmented work into a dependable, scalable function.
Lead external assurance. Build trust with ICBs, clinical directors and other healthcare leaders. Explain complex issues clearly, handle challenging questions credibly and support important commercial conversations.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Demonstrates exceptional critical thinking and systems-level judgement.
- Can understand complex products and work credibly with Product and Engineering.
- Has built or substantially improved a function, system or operating process.
- Can distinguish material risk from process for its own sake.
- Communicates with authority in difficult customer and stakeholder conversations.
- Thrives in ownership, ambiguity and a fast-moving technology company.
Experience in high-performing medtech or healthtech organisations—particularly those working with the NHS—would be especially valuable. Experience in clinical safety, data protection, DPIAs or healthcare assurance is useful, but we care more about your ability to think, learn and build than whether you have owned every framework.
This is a hands-on individual-contributor role with significant ownership. Success means assurance is embedded in how Anima builds, customers trust our answers and teams can move quickly without compromising safety or…
