We are looking to recruit a Data Engineer to play a vital role in supporting the digital transformation journeys of our clients. In this role, you will work directly on high-impact projects that shape modern data infrastructure, solve complex technical challenges, and drive meaningful outcomes across key sectors. You will join an innovative and collaborative data engineering team with great opportunities to work with modern cloud technologies, expand your skillset, and champion best practices.
What you’ll be doing
Designing, building, and developing robust, scalable data pipelines to ensure reliable data flow and performance.
Helping break down requirements into development tasks, and contributing to estimates and data design discussions.
Upholding our quality practices, including source control, reproducibility and testing.
Working with client stakeholders on the technical tasks: clarifying data requirements and talking through options.
Supporting junior engineers with their delivery work, from estimating tasks to following quality standards.
Helping junior engineers get to know the platforms and tools we use, such as cloud platforms and orchestration frameworks.
What you’ll bring to Answer
Commercial experience building data pipelines and taking ownership of your own deliverables within a team.
Good SQL and Python, plus hands-on experience with orchestration and at least one cloud data platform.
An understanding of the data lifecycle: ETL/ELT, data modelling and data governance.
Experience working with version control, testing and documentation standards.
An interest in consultancy work and in solving our clients' problems.
It would be great if you also had experience in some of these, but if not we’ll help you with them:
Experience building semantic models and reports using tools such as PowerBI.
Healthcare data experience, such as NHS programmes or standards like FHIR, HL7 and SNOMED CT.
Using AI-assisted tools to build, test or document pipelines, and checking their output carefully.
Data governance/contracts or other ways of catching data quality issues early.
