An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a newly established and well-funded property development venture focused on acquiring and delivering commercial development opportunities across the UK.
Working alongside an experienced development team, you will identify and secure sites through options, conditional contracts and subject-to-planning agreements, take opportunities through the planning process, secure occupiers and ultimately deliver investment-ready schemes for sale or funding.
The focus will primarily be on industrial, trade counter, roadside, self-storage and strategic land opportunities, with capital already committed and a number of early projects ready to progress.
We are interested in speaking with candidates from Senior Surveyor through to Associate Director level, so the role can be shaped around the experience and strengths of the successful individual.
The Role
Your responsibilities are likely to include:
Identifying and assessing new development opportunities.
Securing sites through options, conditional contracts and subject-to-planning agreements.
Undertaking development appraisals and assessing scheme viability.
Working with planning consultants and professional teams to obtain planning consent.
Negotiating with landowners, agents and other stakeholders.
Identifying and securing occupiers across industrial, trade counter, roadside and related sectors.
Progressing pre-let and forward-funded development opportunities.
Building relationships with funds, investors, developers and occupiers.
Managing projects from initial site identification and acquisition through planning, delivery and eventual funding or disposal.
Working closely with the wider team to identify opportunities connected to its growing self-storage platform.
About You
Ideally, you will be an MRICS-qualified Development Surveyor , although relevant commercial development experience will be more important than a particular background.
You are likely to have experience within a developer, property company, development consultancy or commercial agency and should have a good understanding of the development process.
Experience in some or all of the following would be particularly useful:
Options and conditional contracts.
Development appraisals and viability.
Planning-led acquisitions.
Industrial, trade counter, roadside or self-storage development.
Pre-let and forward-funded schemes.
Development agency and land transactions.
Occupier engagement.
Investment funding and disposals.
We are not looking for someone who necessarily ticks every box. The scope of the position means we are equally interested in an ambitious Senior Surveyor looking for their next step or a more experienced Associate/Associate Director who can bring an established network and take greater ownership of projects from day one.

Salary & Package
£50,000 - £80,000, depending on experience, plus bonus and benefits.
There is considerable flexibility around level, with the emphasis on finding someone with the right commercial development skills and personality for the business.
