Lead Software Engineer responsible for designing and building a high-volume enterprise email delivery platform, overseeing architecture, implementation, and operations to ensure deliverability, reliability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and architect the enterprise email service using AWS SES, ensuring scalability and high deliverability.
Lead technical design reviews and establish engineering patterns and guardrails.
Guide and mentor senior engineers, facilitating knowledge transfer and code quality.
Drive end-to-end delivery, monitoring, and troubleshooting of email operations.
Collaborate with Architecture, Security, SRE, and business stakeholders to align technical decisions.
Own the implementation of email delivery features, including SPF, DMARC, DKIM, IP warming, and suppression.
Define operational metrics and alerting for bounce, complaint, and reputation signals.
Ensure secure handling of email content and recipient data, implementing encryption and secrets management.
Qualifications:
Deep expertise in enterprise email delivery and deliverability, including SPF, DMARC, DKIM, IP warming, sender/IP reputation, bounce and complaint management, suppression strategies, and ISP/provider throttling.
Advanced hands-on experience designing high-volume email solutions using AWS SES, including dedicated IPs/pools, configuration sets, sending identities, SNS event notifications, CloudWatch monitoring, IAM, and multi-account/environment strategies.
