Cavendish Professionals are looking to speak to Applied AI Engineers to join an exciting client based in the UK – a fast-growing UK property-management platform using AI to automate lettings and property-management operations. The company has raised $260m+ in under a year, including a $170m Series B
The engineering organisation is relatively small, with around 20 people and product teams typically consisting of just 2-3 engineers, meaning the successful candidates will have significant ownership and architectural influence in building and scaling the AI infrastructure. This is not a traditional ML/Data Science role. The ideal candidate will be a strong backend/software engineer with hands-on experience building and shipping LLM and agentic systems into production.
Skills and Requirements:
3-5+ years’ experience in software engineering, ideally within an AI-native startup or high-growth technology company.
Strong backend software engineering experience.
Hands-on experience building agentic/LLM systems in production.
Ability to discuss real production challenges around evaluation, reliability, latency, cost and hallucinations.
Experience with agent orchestration, tool calling, task decomposition and structured outputs, and building production-grade LLM and agentic systems, ESPECIALLY in a Startup environment
Candidate Profile:
Strong backend/software engineering background rather than a traditional ML or Data Science background.
Experience building production software using LLMs and agentic systems, rather than focusing primarily on model/ML work.
Comfortable working within a fast-growing technology company and taking ownership of initiatives.
Role and Responsibilities:
Build and scale the AI infrastructure powering the clients Tenant Find, Property Management and Finance product areas.
Develop production-grade LLM and agentic systems.
Build multi-step agents, sub-agent orchestration and tool use.
Develop structured outputs and reusable AI workflows.
Build evaluation frameworks and feedback loops.
Improve latency, reliability, hallucination rates and cost.
Scale AI infrastructure as Dwelly acquires and integrates more agencies.
Work within small product teams, typically consisting of 2-3 engineers.
Take significant ownership and architectural influence over the development of AI infrastructure.
Propose and take ownership of new initiatives.
Have the flexibility to move between product teams.
