Get to know us better
CodiLime is a software and network engineering industry expert and the first-choice service partner for top global networking hardware providers, software providers and telecoms. We create proofs-of-concept, help our clients build new products, nurture existing ones and provide services in production environments. Our clients include both tech startups and big players in various industries and geographic locations (US, Japan, Israel, Europe).
While no longer a startup - we have 250+ people on board and have been operating since 2011 we’ve kept our people-oriented culture. Our values are simple:
Act to deliver.
Disrupt to grow.
Team up to win.
The project and the team
You will join the team behind a leading network source-of-truth (NSoT) platform, used by thousands of organizations - from fast-growing tech companies to Fortune 500 enterprises - to model, document, and automate their network infrastructure.
CodiLime engineers work within the platform's Observability team, which builds the software responsible for network discovery and reconciliation (keeping the platform's documented network state in sync with what is actually discovered on the network), network observability and monitoring, as well as the agents and fleet management that collect data from customer networks. The team develops both closed-source and open-source components, used by the product's large community. Observability is a key part of network automation: it keeps the platform's view of the network accurate and up to date.
The platform is built AI-first, with its own Claude Code agent skills and MCP server, and that mindset carries over to how the team works: AI-assisted development is actively cultivated day to day to help the team move fast and consistently land high-quality results.
The scale is significant - some of the platform's largest customers manage hundreds of thousands of devices, each with multiple interfaces, across globally distributed environments.
As the observability offering keeps growing, the team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who can strengthen coverage in US time zones.
Technology stack:
Programming languages: Go (primary language), Python (tests and tooling)
APIs: gRPC, Connect RPC, with Protobuf
Data & messaging: PostgreSQL (including migrations), Redis, RabbitMQ
Architecture: multi-tenant services, event-driven systems
Security: OAuth2 / OIDC
Observability: OpenTelemetry, metrics and instrumentation, Grafana, Prometheus
Network & device protocols: SNMP, gNMI, CLI-based collection, MQTT
Containerization & Orchestration: Docker (Docker Compose for local/test environments), Kubernetes
Cloud: AWS
CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Ansible
AI tooling: Claude Code, MCP servers, Anthropic tooling
What else you should know:
Small, cross-functional team with strong ownership of code quality, security and tests
The team is distributed across Europe and the US, and we are looking for someone to strengthen coverage in US time zones (ideally Eastern Time), including customer support, production issues and on-call
AI tools are part of the daily workflow, including AI-assisted test writing and internal data/feed management tooling
This is a backend-focused role
Startup-like vibe: proactive, ownership-driven, fast-paced
We work on multiple interesting projects at a time, so it may happen that we’ll invite you to an interview for another project if we see that your competencies and profile are well suited for it.
Your role
As a part of the project team, you will be responsible for:
Designing and building Go services for network discovery and reconciliation, network observability and monitoring, and agents and fleet management
Designing multi-tenant ingestion pipelines for network device data, with clear delivery guarantees, idempotency and predictable behavior under load
Collecting device identity and state from network devices using protocols such as SNMP, gNMI and CLI
Building and evolving gRPC and Connect RPC APIs defined in…
