Ready to Make an Impact?
On behalf of a client in the engineering sector, we are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to serve as a technical leader on water, wastewater, stormwater and drainage, and roadway infrastructure projects.
This is a hands-on design role for an experienced professional engineer who wants to stay close to the technical work – leading the engineering behind the projects, setting the design approach, solving complex technical problems, and making sure the final product is sound, buildable, and built to last – rather than focusing on program and project management.
The Work You Can Do:
As a senior civil engineer, you'll be a go-to technical resource within a collaborative team of engineers, designers, and project managers, guiding municipal infrastructure projects from concept through construction.
Your Work May Include: Leading the design and analysis of water distribution, sanitary sewer, stormwater, drainage, and roadway infrastructure
Performing and overseeing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and modeling
Preparing, reviewing, and sealing engineering calculations, plans, specifications, technical reports, and construction cost estimates
Developing and directing the development of construction plans and design documents in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design software
Serving as the technical authority on quality-control reviews of calculations, plans, and deliverables
Evaluating existing plans, survey data, utility information, and record drawings to inform design decisions
Leading the technical development of local, state, and federal permit applications and coordinating with regulatory agencies
Conducting site visits and field investigations to assess existing conditions
Providing engineering support during construction, including submittal reviews, RFI responses, site observations, and resolution of field issues
Providing technical input on project scopes, schedules, and fee estimates
Mentoring and developing engineer interns, junior engineers, and designers
The Teammate Our Client Is Looking For: Is a true technical expert who enjoys the design work itself
Has a track record of designing water, sewer, drainage, and roadway projects that have been built
Sets high standards for technical quality and holds the team to them
Solves complex problems with sound judgment and practical solutions
Enjoys teaching and sharing expertise with less experienced engineers
Communicates technical issues clearly to clients, agencies, contractors, and team members
Can balance multiple projects and priorities without losing sight of deadlines or details
Is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana or willing to relocate
What You'll Bring to Their Team: A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited program
An active Professional Engineer (PE) license, with Louisiana registration or the ability to obtain it through comity
8 or more years of civil engineering design experience
Demonstrated experience designing water, wastewater, stormwater/drainage, and roadway projects for municipal or public clients
Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software
Thorough knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal design standards and regulatory requirements
Strong technical writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills
A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
Experience in water, sewer, and drainage design is strongly preferred
