About the Role
Are you an ambitious design engineer ready to take your technical skills to the next level? As a Product Design Engineer in our Technical Center, you won't just sit behind a desk—you will actively shape the next generation of roofing products, systems, and manufacturing solutions.
Working alongside senior engineers, you will take concepts from the CAD stage through simulation, prototyping, and hands-on site implementation. This is a high-visibility role where your designs directly impact manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and market innovation across our international operations.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Innovation: Utilise 2D/3D CAD and simulation tools to develop, iterate, and refine new roofing products, components, and specialised production equipment.
Prototyping & Testing: Build prototypes and lead technical field/lab testing to validate designs, verify structural performance, and ensure full compliance before product launch.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Supply Chain, Marketing, and Operations to translate commercial briefs into viable, high-quality technical specs.
Technical Communication: Translate complex engineering data into clear, actionable reports and insights for non-technical commercial stakeholders.
Process Alignment: Ensure all designs align with internal quality systems, risk assessments, and industry standards.
What You Bring
Experience: 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in product development or industrial design.
Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related STEM field.
CAD Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).
Manufacturing Knowledge: Practical understanding of common manufacturing processes, workshop tools, and prototyping methods.
Mobility: Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally (primarily within Europe) a few times a year.
Problem-Solving Speed: Proven ability to learn new tools quickly, prioritise tasks, and deliver under tight project timelines.
Communication: Ability to distill technical concepts for commercial, operational, and non-technical teams.

Experience with simulation software (FEA, CFD).
Background in building materials, construction products, or roofing systems.
Familiarity with design-for-manufacturability (DFM) principles.
Working knowledge of an additional European language.
If you do not have all key skills but still feel like you would be a good fit, please still apply and we will consider your application based on merit and experience.
