Job Description Summary
In this role you will support the manufacturing processes that turn formed sheet metal into flight-critical hardware: forming, resistance and TIG welding, brazing, heat treat, and machining. You’ll work directly with operators, quality, and senior engineers on the shop floor to keep parts flowing, solve process problems, and prevent defects from escaping. You’ll follow standard work and established procedures, but you can reorder your priorities as production needs change. Your work directly affects product quality, delivery, and the success of the team around you. Plant 2 makes sheet metal fabricated parts for jet engines. Its main product line is combustors, and it also builds fuel nozzles and parts.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Give hands-on engineering support to combustor and nozzle production. Respond to floor issues, help operators, and keep parts moving through fabrication, welding, brazing, heat treat, and machining.
Help maintain and improve process documentation, including work instructions, operation sheets, and setup sheets, so they match current engineering requirements and drawings.
Support process control for special processes such as resistance (spot/seam) welding, TIG welding, brazing, and heat treat. Monitor process parameters, verify setups, and flag anything that drifts from the spec.
Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T on sheet metal assemblies. Help resolve fit-up, distortion, weld quality, and dimensional problems.
Work on nonconformances and quality escapes. Collect data, help find the root cause, and carry out corrective and preventive actions within established procedures.
Take part in lean and continuous improvement projects (standard work, 5S, setup reduction, flow improvement) that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Work with Quality, Production, Materials, Tooling, and senior Manufacturing Engineers. Understand how your area’s work connects to upstream and downstream operations.
Make decisions within your defined scope. Escalate technical issues that fall outside established parameters to senior engineers.
Explain technical information clearly to operators and cross-functional partners. Train or guide junior team members as needed.
Follow and promote EHS requirements and safe work practices in a fabrication environment.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years Manufacturing/Production experience)
Desired Characteristics
Experience in manufacturing or production.
Experience with CNC machining, resistance welding, TIG welding, vertical/horizontal lathe, milling, heat treat, brazing, fabrication
