Job Description Summary
Join GE HealthCare's CT Engineering team and help define how electrical power is designed, distributed and managed across our next generation of CT systems.
We're looking for an experienced Power Electronics Engineer who enjoys solving complex system-level problems and wants to stay actively involved in the engineering work. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, not an oversight position. You'll help set the architecture and technical direction while also designing, analyzing, troubleshooting, testing, and solving problems alongside the team.
In this role, you'll work across multiple circuit boards and electrical subsystems to help define the overall power architecture of our CT platforms. You'll influence long-term technical strategy while continuing to design, analyze, prototype, troubleshoot and test real hardware.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has built deep expertise in power electronics and is ready to expand their influence from individual circuit and board design into broader system architecture and technical leadership.
Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin, hybrid with approximately 3 days onsite
Relocation assistance: Available
Job Description
What You'll Do
Define and evolve electrical power architecture for advanced CT systems.
Design analog and power electronics circuitry, including power conversion, controls and high-speed interfaces.
Develop electrical architectures spanning multiple boards, components and subsystems.
Create and review schematics and PCB designs using ECAD tools.
Lead technical design reviews and promote strong engineering rigor and best practices.
Build and evaluate prototypes and conduct hands-on troubleshooting, validation and reliability testing.
Take designs from concept through prototype, verification and production support.
Partner with digital, systems, mechanical, manufacturing, service and global engineering teams to solve complex design challenges.
Balance performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost and regulatory requirements when making design decisions.
Help shape longer-term power electronics strategy for future CT platforms.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
7+ years of professional electrical engineering experience.
Strong hands-on experience with power electronics and power conversion .
Experience designing and analyzing electrical circuits, including schematic design and simulation.
Experience with PCB design/layout and schematic capture.
Experience taking electrical designs from concept through prototype, testing and production support.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across engineering teams.
We'd Love to See
Experience in one or more of the following is helpful, but you don't need to check every box :
Switching power supplies, converters or power distribution systems.
Buck/boost or resonant converter design.
High-power or higher-voltage electrical systems.
EMC-conscious design and troubleshooting.
Design for reliability and manufacturability.
UL, ETL, IEC or other applicable regulatory standards.
Digital electronics or FPGA/VHDL.
Leading complex technical designs or influencing system-level architecture.
Why This Role?
This is a working architect role, not an oversight role. You'll help set the power architecture strategy for our CT platforms while remaining actively involved in the engineering. You'll work directly with schematics, circuits, PCBs, prototypes, testing, troubleshooting, and design reviews while also providing technical direction across the broader system.
It's a great opportunity for an experienced power electronics engineer who wants to stay close to the technology while growing their influence from board-level design into system-level architecture and technical leadership.
This isn't an architecture role where you'll step away from engineering.
