Job Details:
Job Description:
Work on Intel 14A and explore the engineering challenges behind leading-edge Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistor technology. Join Intel’s Technology Development Foundry Engineering team and contribute to advanced semiconductor process development at the intersection of process integration, device performance, yield, and product execution.
As an intern, you will own a focused technical project with practical engineering impact, supported by experienced technical mentors. You will have the opportunity to apply your PhD research expertise to process, metrology, yield, and electrical data and develop insights that can guide engineering decisions.
What You Will Work On
Depending on your research background, interests, and project needs, your work may include:
Analyze inline process, metrology, electrical, and yield data to identify variation, correlations, and opportunities for engineering investigation.
Apply statistical analysis, modeling, or data science methods to understand relationships among process conditions, physical measurements, device performance, and yield.
Investigate process integration and device-related hypotheses in collaboration with engineers across technical disciplines.
Develop automated analysis, standard reports, and visualizations to enable faster assessment of silicon performance and comparison across experiments.
Translate analysis into actionable engineering insights and recommendations.
Deliver a reusable analysis workflow, reporting tool, or model and present your technical findings to the team.
What You Will Gain
Hands-on experience supporting Intel 14A technology development.
Exposure to how process integration, device performance, yield, and foundry product requirements interact in leading-edge semiconductor development.
Experience solving engineering problems using real silicon data.
Technical mentorship and collaboration with engineers across multiple specialties.
Ownership of a well-defined project with practical engineering value.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Must be actively pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific/engineering field.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD research involving advanced semiconductor devices, semiconductor fabrication, or characterization.
Hands-on experience with semiconductor fabrication, cleanroom processing, or device/material characterization.
Strong data analytics, statistical analysis, modeling, or automation skills.
Ability to analyze complex technical data and communicate findings clearly.
Location & Immigration Information
As you consider the opportunity to join Intel, relocation assistance may be available based on eligibility, current location, and the specifics of the role.
Intel sponsors individuals for employment-based visas for positions where we experience a shortage of U.S. workers. These skills shortage roles are typically STEM positions requiring a Master's or PhD degree, or a Bachelor's degree with at least three years of post-degree related job experience.
