C++ Developer - Optical Metrology / High-Precision Engineering - Wetzlar (m/f/d)
Wetzlar, Hesse, Germany (On-site)
We are currently hiring a C++ Developer for a globally established company specialising in high-precision optical measurement systems.
You will join an interdisciplinary team of software engineers and physicists developing software for advanced optical and metrology machines. The role focuses on mathematical modelling, algorithm development, and high-performance system implementation.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain C++ software for optical measurement systems
Implement and optimise mathematical algorithms (geometry, linear algebra, numerical methods)
Translate physical models into robust production code
Work closely with R&D, hardware, and physics teams
Contribute to system architecture and performance improvements
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of professional C++ development experience
Strong knowledge of modern C++ and STL
Academic background in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar
Solid understanding of linear algebra and geometry
Experience working with complex codebases
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good written and spoken English & German
Nice to Have
Experience with Qt
Background in optics, image processing, or signal processing
Experience working with hardware-related systems
