Responsibilities
Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions via video call
Assess each student's current level and tailor your teaching approach to their needs
Prepare lesson plans, practice problems, or study guides as appropriate
Track student progress and adjust your methods based on what's working
Communicate regularly with students (and parents, for minors) about progress and areas of focus
Maintain a consistent, reliable schedule — students count on you to show up
Provide constructive, encouraging feedback that builds confidence alongside skills
Requirements
No formal teaching degree required for most subject areas
Demonstrated knowledge or expertise in your subject area (test scores, prior coursework, professional experience, etc.)
Strong communication skills and patience — especially with frustrated learners
Ability to explain complex concepts in simple, accessible terms
Reliable video conferencing setup (stable internet, camera, microphone)
Punctual and organized — sessions start on time and have a plan
Background check may be required for tutoring minors
