Role Purpose
Zurich Cover-More is seeking a Product Manager for API & Data Management on Project Sirius, our enterprise technology transformation.
The role owns two of Sirius's Phase 1 priority capabilities: the enterprise API library and data and reporting optimization. It also owns the canonical data model that ties our brands, regions and partners together.
The Product Manager treats APIs and data as products. They have consumers, roadmaps, service levels and measurable adoption. The role works with Enterprise Architecture, integration engineering, data platform teams, distribution partners and business stakeholders. It is a product role that owns priorities and outcomes. It is not a hands-on integration developer or data engineer position.
What we ask of you
Function Specific Accountabilities
A. API Product Strategy & Roadmap
Own the vision, roadmap and backlog for the Sirius enterprise API library across quote, buy, policy servicing, claims and assistance.
Identify and prioritize API consumers: internal channels, Freely, partners, airlines, travel agents, banks and aggregators.
Define API products with clear value, service levels, versioning and deprecation policies.
Track API adoption, reuse and partner onboarding time as product outcomes.
B. API Design Standards & Lifecycle
Set API standards with Enterprise Architecture: naming, REST and event conventions, error models, security and versioning.
Run an API lifecycle from discovery and design review through publishing, monitoring and retirement.
Make sure APIs are documented, discoverable and testable through a developer portal and catalogue.
Drive partner self-service onboarding: sandbox access, credentials, test data and certification.
C. Integration Platform & MuleSoft
Act as product owner for API delivery on MuleSoft, working with integration engineering and the SI partner.
Coordinate across the three MuleSoft estates: Zurich Group ConnectZ, Zurich North America and Cover-More IT.
Support the decision on where the canonical model and shared APIs run, including a possible move to ConnectZ.
Define reuse patterns so regions and brands stop building point-to-point integrations.
D. Canonical Data Model & Data Management
Own the canonical data model for core domains: customer, policy, product, quote, claim, partner and payment.
Establish master and reference data management for products, partners, geographies and code sets.
Define data ownership, stewardship and quality rules with business domain owners.
Make sure data lineage and definitions are consistent across APIs, the data platform and reports.
E. Data Platform, Reporting & Insights
Own the backlog for data and reporting optimization: ingestion, curated data products and self-service reporting.
Reduce duplicate and conflicting reports across brands and regions; agree one source for core metrics.
Partner with analytics, pricing and finance on the data products they need, such as conversion, loss ratio and partner performance.
Prioritize near-real-time data where it drives decisions, such as pricing, fraud and customer service.
F. Governance, Privacy & Security
Build privacy, consent and data residency requirements into API and data design…
