Investigate in-service defects, repeat failures and technical incidents to identify root causes and appropriate corrective actions.
Perform functional testing across mechanical, electrical, electronic and software-based systems.
Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics to support fault diagnosis and repair.
Monitor train and system performance, identifying trends and opportunities to improve reliability.
Provide technical support to depot maintenance and production teams.
Support investigations into reliability, availability and safety-related incidents.
Produce clear technical reports covering defects, investigations, repairs and recommendations.
Support post-incident testing, technical investigations and modifications.
Investigate recurring failures and contribute to improvements in fleet performance.
Develop specialist knowledge of designated train systems.
Provide technical support, coaching and mentoring to colleagues.
Support the implementation of engineering changes and modifications.
Carry out secondary checks of safety-critical work where required.
Identify technical and operational risks and recommend appropriate mitigation.
Contribute to continuous improvement focused on safety, reliability, availability and maintenance performance.
