Compensation: $30 – $35 /per Hour
Work Type: Contract

Job Description:
A distributed enterprise seeks a seasoned Network Systems Specialist to drive a multi-site network transformation program. Operating entirely remotely, you will lead the rollout, staging, and operational handover of enterprise hardware while transitioning regional facilities to an upgraded Layer 3 architecture.
In this position, you will act as the primary operational engineer overseeing concurrent multi-facility cutovers with zero operational disruption. You will balance hands-on command-line provisioning with high-level cross-functional alignment, working alongside systems engineering, information security, external contractors, and on-site field hands to hit rigorous project milestones.
Primary Duties & Deliverables
Provision, validate, and commission enterprise-grade HPE Aruba routing and switching infrastructure across regional hubs.
Execute routed Layer 3 network cutovers, establishing stable core and distribution connectivity across diverse geographical branches.
Direct technical operations across all project milestones: pre-deployment staging, live cutover execution, and post-migration hypercare.
Interface regularly with infrastructure architecture, SecOps, network operations centers (NOC), external telecom providers, and dispatch technicians.
Diagnose Layer 2/3 transport anomalies, run diagnostic packet captures and root-cause analyses, and execute fast remedial action.
Author and update high- and low-level architectural schematics, runbooks, configuration templates, and operational handover guides.
Track site deployment velocity, generate weekly milestone delivery summaries, and maintain cutover schedules.
Facilitate after-hours and weekend production cutovers to preserve end-user uptime across various regional operating hours.
Technical Qualifications & Core Competencies
Routing & WAN: Practical mastery of Layer 3 interior and exterior routing architectures, specifically BGP, OSPF, route summarization techniques, mutual redistribution, and static routing schemes.
Switching & Campus LAN: Comprehensive understanding of Layer 2 fundamentals, including 802.1Q tagging, segmented VLAN design, STP/RSTP/MSTP topologies, port aggregation (LACP), and multi-VLAN routed interfaces.
Network Services: Deep command of IP address schema design, CIDR subnetting, IP helper/DHCP relay mechanisms, and internal DNS integration.
Vendor Ecosystem Proficiency: Direct, practical experience managing and provisioning Aruba infrastructure:
ArubaOS-CX (AOS-CX) command-line interface
Aruba Central cloud orchestration platform
Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) deployment pipelines
Aruba EdgeConnect (Silver Peak) SD-WAN architectures
Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager (CPPM) integration
Coordination & Organization: Proven history of directing third-party field dispatchers, structured cabling contractors, and remote site contacts during hardware turn-ups.
Operational Reporting: Rigorous record-keeping skills with experience publishing network diagrams, cutover tracking sheets, and executive progress reports.
Availability: Willingness to support planned maintenance windows, including off-peak evening and weekend operational cutovers across various domestic time zones.
