GenCorr, a TRG company and affiliate of Schwarz Partners is currently seeking a Safety & Quality Manager to support our Alsip, IL facility. The Safety and Quality Manager is responsible for planning/developing and directing activities and policies that support the safety and quality of the entire operation with a maintained focus on continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
Develop, implement, communicate and maintain safety and quality strategies and programs throughout the operation.
Facilitate bi-weekly monthly safety committee meetings; lead and direct members of the committee in safety programs and initiatives; train and facilitate the principles of safety with team.
Responsible for assigning weekly safety training topics/materials and safety audits to Supervisors; coordinate and work with team on plant audits.
Work in conjunction with HR to conduct new hire safety training.
Monitor completion of online safety training for all employees.
Follow all company safety policies, reporting any issues, accidents or incidents immediately. Manage and coordinate all work-related injury and incident investigations and reporting.
Investigate customer quality complaints and non-conformance issues
Manage and provide input into relevant quality systems including corrective actions and customer complaint resolution.
Prepare and conduct quality review meetings with the management team.
Internal auditing of machine productivity and efficiency data. Work with Supervisors, Leads and Operators to improve set ups and run rates while maintaining quality standards.
Direct and continuously improve standards for the disposition of finished product and rework by determining inspection and physical testing methods and procedures.
Maintain product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and other requirements; collaborating with other members of management to develop new training methods.
Coordinate activities and facilitate interactions during regulatory agency, third party, internal and customer audits; responsible for respective communication and documentation to management.
Demonstrate outstanding supervisory and human relations skills by creating a positive work environment, modeling superior behavior, attitude and performance, respecting confidentiality, and engaging in fair and consistent treatment of employees.
Keep appropriate management informed of problems or situations that may affect the performance of the plant.
Meet with customers, suppliers, and vendors as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including federal and/or state required environmental systems, OSHA Safety and Health rules, and standard operating procedures.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
HS Diploma (or GED) or higher.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the corrugated industry.
Experience with safety and quality oversight and reporting.
Knowledge of various paperboard stocks, board grade combinations, POP displays and printing processes.
Knowledge of products, machine limitations and costing variables.
Knowledge of industry specific safety standards and OSHA regulations.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Ability to work well with and speak to groups.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills, verbal and written.
Knowledge of computers and various production software systems.
Strong attention to detail.

Required to regularly lift and/or move up to 70 lbs. Any objects over 50 lbs. will be recommended to be handled by two members.
Must have specific vision abilities required by this job, including close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception and peripheral vision.
