Where jobs are actually posted, counted across 13,541 boards
Most openings never reach a job site. Here is the split.
We poll every company hiring board we know of, one at a time, on its own schedule. That list is now 13,541 boards across 12,000 companies, and it is the only honest way we know to answer a question job seekers ask constantly: where do the openings actually live?
The answer is that they live on the company's own board first. A job site is a copy, made later, if it is made at all.

Why Lever looks small here
Lever runs far more boards than 99. It is small in our count because it is hard to enumerate: it publishes no sitemap, and the public web archive we use to discover boards holds only its robots file. We find Lever boards one at a time, from postings we have already seen, so our number reflects our discovery method rather than their market share. That is worth saying out loud, because a chart that hides its method is just decoration.
What to do with this
- 1Guess the address before you search. Most boards sit at a predictable URL built from the company name.
- 2Read the whole board, not the one role. The neighbouring titles tell you what the team is actually building.
- 3Check again before you apply. A live link is not the same as an open role.
