An exceptional opportunity for a mid-level Offshore Software Developer to shape the future of Offshore Staffing in Melbourne.
Offshore Staffing has moved well beyond cost arbitrage.
Clients now expect the same engineering rigour from a distributed team that they'd demand on-site, and that shift has created real demand for developers who can build fast without cutting corners.
This business is a lean, fast-growing startup supplying offshore technical talent and tooling to companies that need to scale their engineering output without scaling their headcount.
The Offshore Software Developer joining this team won't be a cog in a big machine.
You'll help define how the product gets built.
Here's what you'll be doing: Design and build features across the stack for internal platforms and client-facing tools used by offshore engineering teams Write clean, maintainable code and review pull requests from teammates across different time zones Work directly with product and operations staff in Melbourne to turn rough requirements into shipped software Debug production issues under pressure, then fix the root cause rather than papering over it Contribute to technical decisions on architecture, tooling, and how the team scales its development process Document systems clearly enough that someone else on the team can pick up your work without a handover call Here are the skills you'll need: Three or more years of commercial software development experience, ideally across both front-end and back-end work Solid grasp of a modern language such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or similar, plus comfort with REST APIs and relational databases Experience working in a remote or distributed team, where written communication matters as much as code quality Ability to manage your own workload with minimal supervision.
This isn't a role for someone who needs constant direction Curiosity and a willingness to learn new tools quickly in a startup that changes shape as it grows Good spoken and written English for daily collaboration with the Melbourne-based team Key perks and benefits: Salary of A$30,000 to A$44,000, set at mid-level for this Offshore Software Developer position Fully remote role, work from wherever suits you Equity in a growing Offshore Staffing business, not just a pay cheque Flexible working hours built around output, not clock-watching A learning and development budget to keep your skills current Why pursue a career in Offshore Staffing?
Offshore Staffing is one of the few sectors where demand keeps climbing regardless of the wider economic mood.
Companies are permanently rethinking how and where they build their engineering teams, and that gives a skilled Offshore Software Developer genuine leverage over their own career path.
Melbourne has become a credible base for this kind of work too, with a talent pool that global employers increasingly trust.
